PNEUMA

Pneuma (Latin spirit), a substance to be classified between fire and air, emanating from the heart and all-pervading life force. The cosmos formed by fire as the primary substance (doctrine of the four elements) is metamorphosed as a living organism. This, animated by a deeper meaning, in turn determines a cycle of downfall and emergence. Basically, pneuma, another side of the physical, is present everywhere and at the same time possibly also explains all functions of a living organism. An invisible, responsible for physiological processes, possibly material life force, which can still be felt. A kind of all-pervading “fiery breath of air” possessing cosmic power, thought principle of nature and life. The pneuma creates a connection between all things and thus the ability to communication and compassion for others.

Pneuma (lateinisch Spiritus) eine, vom Herzen ausgehende, als alles durchdringende und ihrer Substanz nach zwischen Feuer und Luft anzusiedelnde, Lebenskraft. Der durch das Feuer als Urstoff (Vier-Elemente-Lehre), geformte Kosmos wird metamorphosiert als lebender Organismus. Dieser, beseelt von einem tieferen Sinn, bestimmt wiederum einen Zyklus von Untergang und Entstehung. Im Grunde ist Pneuma, eine andere Seite des Körperlichen, überall vorhanden und erklärt womöglich zugleich auch alle Funktionen eines lebenden Organismus. Eine unsichtbare, für physiologische Vorgänge verantwortlich, eventuell materielle Lebenskraft, welche dennoch spürbar sein kann. Eine Art alles durchdringender „feuriger Lufthauch“ der über kosmische Macht verfügt, gedachtes Prinzip der Natur und des Lebens. Durch das Pneuma entsteht eine Verbindung aller Dinge miteinander und somit auch die Fähigkeit zur Kommunikation und Mitgefühl für andere.
